WhatsApp is getting a makeover, with the Facebook-owned messaging app introducing 3D Bitmoji-style avatars. The new feature, which is currently being rolled out to Android users in the 2.22.23.9 beta, will let you create a virtual likeness of yourself that can be used in chats and group chats.

This is an excellent addition for WhatsApp users who want to add a personal touch to their conversations. It also allows you to express yourself better than with traditional emojis. The avatars are fully customizable, so you can make them look however you want. And best of all, they’re free to use.

To create your avatar, simply head to the WhatsApp settings menu and select the 'Avatar' option. From there, you'll be able to choose from a range of different hairstyles, skin tones, clothes, and accessories to create your perfect look. Once you're happy with your avatar, you can start using it in chats by tapping the new smiley face button next to the text input field.

One of the best things about the new avatars is that they're fully customizable, so you can change your look at any time. Whether you want to go for a completely different style or just tweak a few details, it's easy to do.

So far, the feedback on the new avatars has been positive, with many users finding them fun and expressive. However, some have raised concerns about privacy, as the avatars are linked to your phone number. WhatsApp has said that it is working on implementing additional privacy controls, but in the meantime, it's worth bearing in mind if you're planning on using the feature.
