What’s the “character news” that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl announced recently? The most logical version is that the developer is about to introduce another character from the seemingly endless roster by the channel. But it may mean something completely different. And only on May 13 we are to learn what it will be.

The original announcement appeared on the official Twitter account of the game on May 6. It didn’t offer much information besides this vague hint. Yet the commenters suggest various names, including even third-party characters, like Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory, an animated series developed by Cartoon Network and aired in 1996-2003. This can be concluded from the text of the tweet that says “Back to the lab again”.

The ”lab” may mean something completely different, though. For example, the game can introduce a sort of lab where players can modify their characters’ appearance or abilities. This would be a positive addition to the game, even though its abilities must be limited in order to keep the characters close to their cartoon prototypes.

It’s funny that among the comments, the most liked one said “Just let the game die”. Yet it only collected 150+, while the likes for the original posts are in the thousands. So fans are still here, and they expect the game to get more new content. The latest update was in February when Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles appeared as a playable character. Before him, there was Garfield, but this mischievous cat you would rather expect to see in Overcooked! entered the game even earlier, in 2021. So, new characters are necessary to maintain the engagement even among fans.
